Sabarina has over 20 years’ experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer with extensive experience advising on legal strategy in the resolution of disputes relating to corporate and commercial, oil and gas, construction/engineering and energy contracts. She has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian courts and advises in the negotiation, drafting and review of settlement agreement terms when the parties achieve an amicable resolution of their disputes.

Sabarina regularly advises multinational companies, Malaysian public listed companies and government linked companies on a broad range of issues involving commercial, corporate, banking and finance, construction, insolvency, property contracts and regulatory requirements. She also undertakes non-contentious work in reviewing and drafting specific contract terms and dispute resolution clauses, project documentation including tender evaluations and bidders’ exceptions, EPC contracts for infrastructure (rail and roads) and standard forms such as FIDIC. Sabarina has addressed boards of directors on a broad range of issues such as the contractual implications of energy saving performance agreements, summons by the Department of Environment under the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and findings on the forensic and legal investigations on the Bakun hydroelectric dam project.

Sabarina is an all-rounder who has advised on corporate law and commercial transactions including due diligence for corporate exercises. She also advises employers on contractual issues and disputes arising out of employment contracts and reviewing the terms of appointments of senior management.

Sabarina is empaneled as Arbitrator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC). She is also an accredited Adjudicator under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 and empaneled with the AIAC.
