Gan Khong Aik graduated from the University of Malaya, Malaysia and was admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1995.

Khong Aik has an extensive dispute resolution & litigation practice experience focusing on corporate and commercial disputes including property disputes, company restructuring & liquidation, insolvency, employment and industrial relations disputes with particular reference to restrictive covenants, protection of trade secrets and confidential information as well as defamation. Khong Aik also has interest in international litigation support and arbitration practice.

Khong Aik regularly acts as Counsel for various clients which include major oil and telecommunications companies, international and public listed companies, banks and financial institutions at all tiers of the Malaysian Courts and arbitration.

In the 2010/2011 issue of the Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Khong Aik was described as “an ‘experienced litigation lawyer’ who has a ‘depth of knowledge’ and ‘troubleshooting skills’ that are complemented by a ‘meticulous and thorough approach’. This expertise extends to industrial relations.” Khong Aik’s expertise in dispute resolution was again cited in the publication’s 2012 issue: “Gan Partnership’s dispute resolution practice is led by litigator Gan Khong Aik, who handles industrial relations matters for clients such as Exxon Mobil. The practice has also been instructed on disputes related to the PKFZ scandal”.

Khong Aik co-authored a survey book on Media, Advertising and Entertainment Law (Multiplan, 2008), and has published a number of articles in international journals including the International Law Office newsletters and the article entitled “Managing Contracts of Employment in Mergers and Acquisitions in Malaysia” in the Inter Pacific Bar Association Journal (2007)

 Khong Aik is also a mediator with the Malaysian Mediation Centre.
