Xin Div is a dispute resolution and litigation lawyer who appears before all tiers of the Malaysian courts and the Asian International Arbitration Centre. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom (CIArb), and holds an Executive Certificate in Islamic Finance from INCEIF University (established by Bank Negara Malaysia). Xin Div is also an Accredited Mediator under the Malaysian International Mediation Centre (MIMC).

His practice covers a wide range of corporate, commercial, and contractual disputes, with a focus on boardroom risk and reputation, corporate governance and compliance, as well as restructuring and insolvency. He has experience handling disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions, as well as lawsuits involving professionals such as architects and lawyers. To date, Xin Div has acted for and advised major entities across various sectors, including banking, insurance, construction, energy, timber, mining, and telecommunications.

Xin Div works closely with senior counsel in complex boardroom tussles and high-value disputes involving infrastructure and development projects. He acted for an executive director and substantial shareholder in successfully obtaining an ad interim injunction to stop the extraordinary general meeting of a public-listed company — a case that received wide media coverage. In this matter, Xin Div worked closely with the client on issues concerning company secretarial and Bursa Malaysia requirements. He is currently representing a construction company in pursuing a claim exceeding RM303 million for losses suffered due to the realignment of a mass rapid transit railway line. Beyond dispute resolution, Xin Div was part of a legal team involved in a corporate exercise for the sale of an insurance company valued at RM2.29 billion.

Xin Div graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Second Class Upper Honours) from the University of Adelaide, ranking in the top 15% of his class. He subsequently completed his Certificate in Legal Practice and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Xin Div is a featured expert and author with Lexology (formerly known as the International Law Office), where he writes on litigation and arbitration matters.
