Tong Min Jie (Tony) graduated with First Class Honours in Law (LL.B) and was a finalist representing Kuala Lumpur in the Bar Council National Mooting Competition (Professional Category).

Tony is a dynamic advocate who represents clients at all levels of the Malaysian courts. His noteworthy appellate work includes defending the legality of the agreements allowing non-Malay companies to excavate sand on Malay Reserve Land, preventing the winding up of an oil and gas company, and upholding an Assessment of Damages that valued land at RM3.5 million.

Tony’s portfolio includes a wide array of matters such as debt recovery, judicial reviews, land acquisitions, defamation, shareholder disputes, and employment and industrial relations issues. He has acted in high-stakes cases involving a RM30 million shareholder dispute, a Judicial Management Order application concerning RM24 million debt, and arbitration proceedings for claims totalling approximately RM9 million. In the High Court, Tony successfully defended a developer in a dispute concerning a Joint Venture Agreement valued at approximately RM200 million ([2024] MLJU 2447; [2024] CLJU 2107).

These victories underscore his ability to navigate complex legal challenges and deliver favourable outcomes for his clients.

Committed to advancing legal awareness, Tony has delivered talks on topics such as corporate liabilities under Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, key amendments to the Employment Act 1955, best practices in unfair dismissal claims, and strategies for resolving joint venture disputes.
